Hello Everyone

I put camera setting RAW Fine.this camera has 5FPS so whenever I want to shoot continue shoots it doesn't work. if I keep Prees shutter button to it take pics very slow.

Some time I wish to shoot something fast movemet so I am not able to freeze the moment. I am always get delay.

please advice me any particular setting.  why I am not able to shoot fast object and continue shots. ?

Or the review here on DPR which explains exactly under which circumstances the 5fps can be reached, which certainly is not when shooting raw or raw+. This is not unusual for a camera in this category. You may also want to adjust to the "high speed" setting and disable continuous focus.

To get a burst rate of 5.0 fps (for 8 frames), DPR shot JPEG-only, using high-speed burst shooting, with continuous focus disabled.  The camera used the same focus for all of the frames.

Besides what the others have written, what memory cards are you using? Low-specification cards can be slow.

Your D5300 will take shots UP TO five frames-per-second, which is very different than shooting at 5fps all the time.

In the Shooting Menu look for the "Release Mode" option. Is that menu setting using "Continuous L" or "Continuous H"; somewhat obviously the "L" stands for Low and the "H" stands for High; you probably want that setting on "H".

Another thing slowing down the frame-rate is hooting raw + .jpg since this requires the camera send two files to the SD card instead of one. If you want to shoot fast and continuous, try shooting in .jpg only. Anther things that could be slowing down the frame-rate would be using a slower SD card than your D5300 is spec'ed for.

1.  Use High speed mode and also if using RAW + JPEG use smallest size JPEG instead of large.

2.  Also using 12 bit RAW instead of 14 bit makes a huge difference in speed and not much at all in terms of IQ.

3. Fastest SD card you can afford - mine are 100mbps

4.  ALSO very importantly, remember the AF speed is lens motor dependent.

The kit lens is very slow to focus, taking over a second to go from far to near focus.  Even the 35mm F1.8 DX is pretty slow.

My Sigma 17-50mm F2.8 EX DC OS HSM takes under half a second and is blisteringly faster on the D5300 I had....

So to recap

12 bit raw.

High speed / frame rate burst mode.

Fast SD card.

Small Jpeg if shooting RAW + JPEG.

Better lens.

if you have all that, AF mode (AF-C, AF-S, 39 point dynamic, 3-d tracking etc) won't matter.

No need for replies anymore...

OP has posted this one single question on DPR a full week ago and then fled the scene of the crime.
